ABOUT ME
My professional background is diverse, comprised of 30+ years of impactful experiences as a medical researcher/student, entrepreneur, business operator, management consultant, healthcare investor, and now back to entrepreneur again!
I am the Founder and CEO of Home Impact Partners, which seeks to support and guide the creation of health, social, and economic impact through residential community development. It’s a culmination of all of my prior experiences, and something I'm very excited to be building.
As the married father of four children, I am also very interested in the health and wellbeing of children, and in the ways in which healthy products, homes, and communities can benefit children of all ages and backgrounds. I take a strong interest in helping young people tell their stories, because I believe this also helps them understand themselves better in the process.
I launched my business career as founder and CEO of Xenith, which helped change the paradigm for concussion prevention and management in sports, through a relentless commitment to both innovation and education, and this nearly decade-long experience helps inform much of my storytelling guidance for entrepreneurs.
After Xenith, I became a management consultant within the healthcare practice at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, then a member of the corporate strategy and medical affairs teams at Biogen, a leading neuroscience biopharmaceutical company, and then Chief Business Development Officer at Thorne HealthTech, an innovative consumer wellness company. The common thread of these experiences is seeking to impact the health and wellbeing of people, with communication at the core of the efforts.
I then became a Partner at Concord Health Partners, a healthcare private equity firm, and then Managing Director with Ziegler, an investment services firm, where I sought to impact U.S. hospitals and health systems, especially for caregivers themselves.
On the academic front, I graduated from Harvard University, where I was a Government major and played quarterback on the football team.
Immediately following college, and prior to graduate school, I worked for three years as a research fellow at the Transplantation Biology Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), on protocols designed to increase availability and success of organ transplants, which was one of the most impactful experiences I have ever had.
After MGH, I received an MD from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where impacting patients was a daily goal, as well as an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where I focused on topics related to healthcare venturing.
Most importantly, throughout all of these experiences, I’ve always needed to adapt and persevere, at times re-invent myself, and always had to “tell my story.” I look forward to helping you tell yours!
